I wanted to have a lighter feel in this painting since so many of my paintings are darker. I love the color spa blue and use it for my work frequently. The color gives one a calm feeling. Many times in my backgrounds I don't put reflections or shadows, but a smooth feeling. This time I decided to put in the reflection of the bottle and the clay pot. The clay pot made by my coworker Roberto, gives the overall painting a southwestern feel. That was not what I planned, but I like it.

Christine I love the feel of this painting. The colors are beautiful - the soft pale gray blues, the more intense blue of the bottle all surrounding the warm oranges, perfect!
