Ginger Jar with Flowers 12 x 16 Oil on Panel
This ginger jar belonged to my grandmother and my aunt had given it to her years ago. My Aunt Judy then gave it to me so I could paint it. I really love painting it and haven't in awhile. I wanted this painting to glow with reflections on the bottom and around the flowers and jar. The painting will be available at my upcoming show at The Ventulett Gallery opening June 4-July 9th located at Holy Innocents' Church, 805 Mount Vernon HWY NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30327. I will be there on the 4th from 6-8pm. Please come by.

Two New Paintings: Handmade 18 x 18 and Two Lemons with Handmade Pottery 24 x 24
The top painting is Handmade and is 18 x 18 Oil on Canvas. The bottom painting is Two Lemons with Handmade Pottery 24 x 24 Oil on Panel. Yes, I know these are very similar, but I wanted to try 2 different sizes with lemons added to the 2nd one. I wanted a lighter, airy feel with these paintings.
Last month I took a workshop with Daniel Keys. It was with the Au Coeur Academy on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. The workshop was basically 2 and 1/2 days with the other days being filled with demos of other well known artists: Michelle Dunaway, Scott Burdick, Susan Lyon, Kathy Anderson, Mark Kelvin Horton and Josh Clare. There was also a talk one night with Watercolorist, Mary Whyte. That was one of my favorite presentations of the week. If artists weren't signed up for a workshop they were able to pay a flat payment for demo day. There were people from all over the country. I was with some fellow artists from Georgia and saw many artists I had met at previous workshops.
Also, I will be having a 2 person show opening night will be June 4th and it will go until July 11th. The other artist is Philip Carpenter. It will be located at the Ventulett Gallery, which is a part of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church. I will post more info before then. These above paintings will be part of the show. Please come by on the June 4th from 6pm-8pm.
