- I have been involved with some type of art since I was really young. My mother was always painting and therefore I was encouraged to be creative. Growing up I took private art classes with Bonnie Sears and won 3rd place at an art show held at North DeKalb Mall when I was 12. In high school I still took art as an elective. Once in college when I realized I really wasn't good at math I decided to pursue my first love art. While studying art education I fell into a textile design class and loved it and ended up with a BFA from Georgia State University in textile design. Since then I have been a textile designer/colorist with various textile companies. Feeling the need for more creativity besides work, I started taking pottery and later decided I should take an oil painting class with Karen Appleton. She had such a positive attitude that I furthered my studies with David A. Leffel, Gregg Kreutz, Sarah Lamb, Roseta Santiago, and Nancy Franke. All have been wonderful influences and I feel blessed to have studied with all of my art teachers throughout my life.
