Taken 3 My Painting In a Scene From The Movie

My painting was rented through Anne Irwin Fine Art for the filming of Taken 3. Part of the movie was made in the Atlanta area.  My fellow artist Lynn Johnson, you can look at her work on Anne's website, found the painting in the movie.  I had watched the movie and thought I saw it, but didn't think about stopping it and rewinding.  I am so grateful that she did that for me.  I own the movie so now I will watch it again.  Since the painting never sold and I have it I have decided to keep it for myself.  It's pretty cool to have your painting make it into a well known movie!

Textured 16 x 16 Oil On Canvas

I recently purchased this pottery piece and decided to paint it in a series of pottery pieces.  The pottery was textured and I decided to add more texture and color to it then was actually there.  I wanted a simple feel for the painting.  This painting is available at Anne Irwin Fine Art.  It is for the annual Small Works Show that will start Friday, November 13th from 6:00-8:30pm and runs through December.  Please stop by to see everyone's work.

Cold Wax Medium Abstracts

 Abstract Marsh 16 x 16
 Beach Balls 16 x 16
 Bubbles 16 x 16

 Round The Block 16 x 20

Last month I took a cold wax medium workshop with an emphasis on abstract.  The class was with Cindy Walton.  It was so different then my normal painting and very freeing.  I always enjoy looking at encaustic paintings.  The difference is that encaustic is using hot wax and you really need a studio with great ventilation and maybe doing it outside is the best.  Since I am not in that environment I was really interested in trying cold wax with oil paints and oil sticks.  I didn't realize or remember from art history that the Egyptians used wax in their arts.  Also, Rembrandt and Van Gogh used it.
Sorry that my posts have been few and far between.  It seems like I may have to get a new computer.  It is running very slowly and I am sure it is outdated.
Here are a few paintings from the workshop.  They are oil paintings with cold wax medium.  They are all on panels.  I haven't signed these paintings yet, but they are mine and copyrighted.
