Drifters 8 x 16 on Canvas

My mother found this nest in a bush last fall for me to use in the workshop I was taking, but I just now have gotten around to paint the nest. I liked the straw that the bird used and I was going to paint the nest leaning up against driftwood, but felt like it already had the look I was trying to achieve with the thick straw the bird used. I wanted the painting to look like the nest was on the beach with all of the seaweed and debris that washes up on the beach.

Home Alone 12 x 16 on Board

This painting is a f0llow up to Whimiscal Fury, which was painted at a workshop in September. After looking at the original painting close up I felt like I needed to correct the background and make it more solid so I redid the painting and with a little different angle. I am going to pick 2 of the following 3 paintings for possible entry into a show.

Vase with Oranges 8 x 10 on Panel

This is the second attempt at painting the blue and white vase. I like the pattern on the vase. I wanted to paint a similar painting to my Clementines painting that I did about a year ago. I liked the look and thought this vase would look really good with the contrasting orange color.

Lady Apples 11 x 14 on Panel

After painting this gold vase I have decided not to paint it until at least summer. We will see if I can take a break from it that long. I really love painting this gold vase and like how it looks with my style. As far as the lady apples I buy a whole bunch in November and wrap them up well and then use them when I need them for a painting. It works out well.

Three Plums 6 x 6 SOLD

Thank you Tony for purchasing this painting. I hope you enjoy it for years to come. Tony is a friend of mine who lives in New York. He is a fantastic textile designer for Ralph Lauren Home. He designs for the high-end bedding line. Tony is one of the coolest guys I have ever known! If you are ever in New York and need to know where to eat or where to go he is the one to ask! Thank you.
